Distance to Disneyland

The Desert Palms Hotel and Suites is .7 miles from Disneyland and very walkable.  But if you choose not to walk, the ART shuttle is available as well (more info below).

Getting to Disneyland from the Desert Palms

  • There are several options for getting to Disneyland from the Desert Palms Hotel.

    • Walk- This is the easiest and cheapest option.  It is approximately a 10 minute walk from the hotel to the Disneyland sign and a couple of minutes after that through security and to the Disneyland gates.  You don’t have to cross any major intersections and the walkway is busy and well lit.
    • Drive and Park- If you have a car, you can drive and park at the Mickey and Friends parking lot or Pixar Pals parking lot by Disneyland and ride the tram in.  Parking is $30 per day at Disneyland.
    • Park at Toy Story Lot- You could also drive to the Toy Story parking lot (right off Katella and Harbor) a couple minute drive from the Desert Palms and take a shuttle to the park.  Again, parking is $30 per day.
    • Uber- You can always call an Uber to take you to the park and it would be a very short ride.
    • Art Shuttle– There is not a dedicated shuttle from the Desert Palms to Disneyland, but the ART shuttle is so convenient and easy. There is a shuttle stop right by at the Desert Palms and you will be dropped off right at the Disneyland Resort or Knott’s Berry Farm. The ART (Anaheim Resort Transportation) is so easy.  I never had to wait more than a few minutes for a bus to come.  However, I didn’t ride it first thing in the morning either. When you purchase your ART passes through Get Away Today, you’ll get two days free and  kids ages 3-9 ride free! You will need to download the Token Transit or A-Way WeGo app, create an account and click “Redeem” to add your passes.

Honest Review

This was my first time staying at the Desert Palms Hotel and Suites and I was very impressed. I loved that it was walking distance to Disneyland, the staff was so friendly and helpful and the rooms were updated, spacious and clean!

The hotel room was very spacious and for my family of 4, it would’ve been plenty of space. I love that they have bigger suites to accommodate bigger groups as well and having a full kitchen, although I didn’t use it this time because I was alone, is such a huge perk to have in a hotel!

The hotel was very clean and the free breakfast options are so good!  There is a lot to choose from to satisfy everyone in your group.  The pool area is pretty small but there was never very many people there so I don’t think it would be a problem coming back and swimming for a few hours.

The only complaint I have, and it’s not a complaint about the hotel at all, but the bus station next to the Desert Palms felt a little sketchy and there are some homeless people who hang around the next door 7-11. But I don’t think you’re going to go anywhere in Anaheim where you won’t find this outside of the Disneyland resort hotels.  I recommend staying in a group, be aware of your surroundings and don’t go out too late at night alone and you will be just fine.

I would hands down recommend this hotel to anyone traveling to Disneyland!  It was such a great experience and would stay here again!
