Disneyland After Dark Events

Princess Nite March 7th and 9th

After Dark Events are separate ticketed specially themed events that take place after park hours at Disneyland.  The event and festivities begin with a 3 hour pre party from 6-9pm at Disneyland Park.  At 9pm the private party begins and goes until 1am! There is specialty food, entertainment, and photo ops as well as characters and collectible merchandise.

If you are planning to visit Disneyland on either of those days, keep in mind the park will close early and will be a little more busy with people attending the private party.  You will have to leave the park at 8pm those 2 nights, but if you have a park hopper, you can hop over to California Adventure!

Tickets for the party start at $129 per person. *At the time of writing this post, tickets are sold out.

Weather

The weather in Southern California in March is typically mid 60’s to low 70’s. It will get chilly at night so bring something warm to wear after the sun goes down with lows in the 50’s. March is usually the end of rainy season although this year has been a big surprise!  There was even snow on March 1st!  I recommend watching the weather before you go and pack accordingly.  Always bring a warm outfit or two just in case and pack a few pieces of rain gear such as ponchos, umbrellas and waterproof shoes!

Crowd Calendar

With Spring right around the corner and spring breaks happening in March, you may experience a little higher crowds, especially on the weekends and towards the end of the month.  However, just because the crowds are higher does not mean you can’t still have a great time!  The last trip I took was during the holidays and it was packed!  We were still able to do everything we wanted and had the best time!  Plan well, buy Genie + and have a positive attitude and you will have an amazing time! Saturday, Sunday and Monday will be the busiest day of the week so if you can avoid those days, you will see lower crowds.

*Keep in mind this is just a prediction.  Crowds may be higher or lower on any of these days

Reservations

You still need reservations to enter Disneyland and can make those when you buy your tickets through Get Away Today or Disneyland.  Make sure the dates you want are available before purchasing your tickets.  And if they aren’t, check back every day because sometimes new reservations will pop up. And you can now park hop starting at 11am instead of 1pm!  YAY!
